What I Cover

I oversee reporters who are covering housing, poverty and energy during the Trump administration and advise editors on storytelling.

My Background

I joined ProPublica in 2017 after 17 years at Fortune and earlier stints at Brill’s Content, SmartMoney and The American Lawyer. I’ve edited articles in numerous areas at ProPublica, including many in our “Secret IRS Files” series (which was honored with the Selden Ring) as well as stories about everything from cybercrime and medical-device fraud to education vouchers. A story I edited for ProPublica, “The Landlord & the Tenant,” received a National Magazine Award, and others have been finalists for the National Magazine and Loeb awards. At Fortune, I was the recipient of Loeb Awards as both a reporter and editor and before that was a finalist for the Livingston Award.
