My Background

I’ve spent a lot of the past two decades talking with people about what they’re reading — in college classrooms, museums and public libraries. I also worked at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, managing the membership department, planning events and producing their seasonal newsletter “Plants & Gardens.”

Originally from San Francisco, I now live in Brooklyn with my wife and our cat, Wolf.

I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in history, and I earned a master’s in women and gender studies from San Francisco State University and a master’s in politics from UC Santa Cruz.
