Liz Sharp is ProPublica’s human resources director. She joined ProPublica in 2018. She has been the HR Director at both the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and The Public Theater, where she served on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Work Life Balance and Organizational Development committees. While the majority of her work has been supporting mission driven, non-profit organizations, she also served as the Associate Director of Human Resources at the School of Visual Arts.
Her work in these positions and as a human resources consultant has included policy and handbook development, recruitment and employee relations, performance management, compliance, employee benefits and HR audits.
Her consulting clients include the Lighting Design Group, the Theater Development Fund, the Mark Morris Dance Group, the Tectonic Theater Project, DCM Telemarketing and Telefundraising, Landair Project Resources and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
In her life outside human resources, she has worked for Wave Hill, a public garden in the Bronx and volunteers at the Brooklyn Bears Community garden.
