Yvonne Wehrmann Joins ProPublica’s Development Team

ProPublica announced Wednesday that Yvonne Wehrmann has been hired as assistant director for leadership gifts. In this role, Wehrmann will focus on deepening relationships with the organization’s network of major supporters on the West Coast.

Wehrmann has over 15 years of experience in fundraising, with more than a decade in front-line major gifts development for higher education, the arts and health care organizations. She has held major gift positions at the CHOC Foundation, Loyola Marymount University and UCLA. She received a bachelor’s degree in art history from Loyola Marymount University.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Yvonne to our team here at ProPublica,” said Jim Warycha, director of leadership gifts. “Her background cultivating donor relationships at some of the country’s most prestigious organizations and her experience engaging with California’s philanthropic community will undoubtedly set ProPublica up for great success in the years ahead.”

“I am thrilled to join ProPublica because its investigative stories that spotlight abuses and betrayals of the public trust are more important than ever,” Wehrmann said. “I’m also excited to continue building ProPublica’s network of leadership-level supporters in California.”
