ProPublica is proud to announce that it has won two Sigma Delta Chi awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for its series Dialysis: High Costs and Hidden Perils of a Treatment Guaranteed to All and Brain Wars: How the Military Is Failing Its Wounded.
Senior editor Robin Fields won in the category of Public Service in Online Journalism for her extensive reporting on the dialysis system in America. This particular award is judged on “the evidence of courage and initiative in overcoming opposition; effectiveness of the presentation; and results obtained.”
ProPublica’s T. Christian Miller and NPR’s Daniel Zwerdling, lead reporters on Brain Wars, won in the category of Online Investigative Reporting – the same category ProPublica won for its series on the dangers of gas drilling last year.
Congratulations to Robin, T. and Daniel. View their fellow 2010 honorees on the SPJ website.
