ProPublica is seeking a data intern to help research and produce the in-depth, data-driven investigations we’re known for.
You’ll be working with our award-winning News Apps team, assisting with the data cleaning, bulletproofing and analysis that is central to projects like Dollars for Docs and Prescriber Checkup.
Our ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers and relational databases. Proficiency in SQL, R, or another data/statistical programming language is a must.
Former interns in the department have gone on to work at The New York Times, Center for Public Integrity and the Center for Investigative Reporting.
The internship begins in January and lasts for six months. It is a paid position. Our offices are in New York City, but telecommuting is possible for the right candidate. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or already have a valid work visa.
ProPublica is committed to diversity and especially encourages members of underrepresented communities to apply.
