ProPublica is seeking a data fellow to help create in-depth, data-driven investigations.
The person in this position will work with our award-winning News Applications and Data team in New York City, assisting with the reporting, cleaning, analysis and bulletproofing that is central to projects like The Children of Agent Orange and Machine Bias.
Our ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and has experience in data journalism or a data analytical field. Proficiency in SQL is a must. Experience in R and statistical analysis is a plus.
Former fellows in the department have gone on to work at The New York Times, Bloomberg, the Center for Public Integrity and the Center for Investigative Reporting.
The fellowship is available starting immediately and lasts until the end of 2017. This position is full time with benefits and based in our offices in New York City. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or already have a valid work visa.
