American Illustration Selects Three ProPublica Images for Annual Showcase

American Illustration (AI), a juried hardcover collection of excellence in illustration, has honored ProPublica with three entries in this year’s edition. The large-format AI35 book, published annually in November, will feature three original illustrations from two ProPublica investigations:

The Narco-terror Trap, illustrated by Melinda Beck
Devils, Deals and the DEA, illustrated by Tim McDonagh

AI narrowed more than 10,000 entries from all categories – including book covers, advertising, fashion, student work and others – to just over 330 selections for the final book. Judges choose work that’s ahead of its time, while honoring the publications and agencies responsible for assigning and using the winning images.
