In 1964, John Lewis was a barrier-breaking Freedom Rider, among the first to launch sit-ins and travel the country recruiting college students to travel to the deepest South for Freedom Summer. Now a longtime congressman, he is the only speaker left from the pivotal 1963 March on Washington.
